The Cooler by GrahamSym The Cooler by GrahamSym
I have enabled downloads for personal home use.

I've been trying to get my head around transparencies, not had much luck, so I created a chill out room to cool off. I need it to stop me pulling my hair out! :iconannoyedplz:

Thank you Sergio, it was not as bad as I thought it would be. But my father died, so it was a hard time for my family.

Heck, I make that stuff out of lemons when life gives me lemons, and then I sit back and wonder how I made pomegranate juice out of lemons...

i am just trying now

finally i managed to create Bus (or Floaters) Terminals with buses inside , and now i was curious to see if i could add semi-transparency

It took ages to render the effect, at first try i didn't saw much transparency , not in a very perceptible way, but made a very nice effect on the colors so i am trying again just now

Look cool and interesting but is so sloooooooow

Wow, very cool indeed, fridgid in fact, awesome
Your conversation with fraterchaos, something I hadn't noticed before. I rarely open the Gradient sliders unless I'm starting from scratch on a gradient. I have a few hundred Gradient and Light sets saved and usually just scroll thru those. Something new to check, guess it's back to transparencies again, I swore off them for a while.

Thanks man. I fiddle with the gradients alot, not sure yet how these sliders affect the object, every time I get close to something it goes wrong :)

I do just every once in a while, the thing I find on the Sliders is to unlock then and just move one at a time from end to end to see where and what it affects. That's why I have so many saved in the Gradient/Lights folder so I don't have to fiddle with it but it looks it may be necessary in the case of Transparency.

Yeah I unlock them too, what works on one fractal doesn't necessarily work on an other. Im getting quite a collection of lights. Don't talk to me about transparencies..........

I tried the setting transparency level in the Gradient Sliders, got some good results with that, set them all at 128(midway), Worked good. Spent a long time getting Positional lights set up and all that stuff, rendering test sections getting things set up, was really happy, didn't seem like overly long render time...Until I rendered Full Size, Image render was fairly quick, about 40 mins, Reflects/Trans render estimated at 4 hrs, a tad long but I started it and went to bed. 6 hrs later it was about 25% done, 6 hrs past and 12 hrs and counting to go....SCREW THAT!

I know what its like man, I've got an image thats really good, it renders quickly, I started the reflections, after 2 hours it said 19 days! I gave up. I've got a 3ghz Quad core computer, so its puzzling :(

Yeah it makes no sense how it can render Reflects/Refracts fairly quickly at mediun size but take forever at full size. Yes it will be longer but not by a factor or 100 or 1,000 that's just nuts
