This is one of the coolest images ever. Not just on dA, but anywhere. I would love to meet these fractal beings, the creators of these awe-inspiring starships, (assuming they're peaceful,) as they must view the universe in a really interesting way. This looks more like a photograph than digital art, although how exactly you would manage to get these hyperintelligent beings to pose their starships for a picture is beyond me. The rainbow lens flares around the planet's sun, the clouds and seas and continents of the planet below, and even the starscape in the background all appear as real as a Hubble photograph of Jupiter. The magnificent starships, with their subtly iridescent metal surfaces and the etherial blue glow of the engines within, appear as though they MUST be real, as though the universe needs them.
